Avoiding the Debt Collector: How to Navigate MSP Compliance and What to Do Should Treasury Come Knocking

DRI and MARC (a national coalition of companies and other stakeholders with an interest in the Medicare Secondary Payer "MSP" Program) have partnered for over 10 years to bring attention to, build solutions for compliance with, and improve the MSP program.

  • Attorneys who handle cases involving plaintiffs who are, or may soon become, Medicare recipients.
  • Claims representatives who handle cases involving claimants who are, or may soon become, Medicare recipients.
  • In-House counsel who handle or oversee cases involving claimants who are, or may soon become, Medicare recipients.
  • Professionals who handle MMSEA reporting.

What will you learn? 

  • Hear from defense and plaintiff counsel concerning what materials to look for and actions to take each step of the way, including an introduction to the structure of the Treasury Department and how claims reach Treasury.
  • Learn how to proceed should Treasury seek reimbursement.
  • Uncover issues arising from section 111 data reporting, date of loss discrepancies, ICD-10 codes, and good faith compliance (including with deadlines).
  • Learn how MARC is helping to streamline these processes.

DRI will apply for CLE in your state upon request in writing to cle@dri.org. 

Once the approval is received, DRI will report your attendance to your local state agency where applicable. For more information, please see the "Post Seminar Action" for your state below.
